Exhibition of Glorious Heritage of Karachi by Artist Hamir Soomro opens at Arts Council
Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized the Art exhibition of famous Artist Hamir Soomro, titled Glorious Heritage of Karachi was held at Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab along with President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah, American Consul General Nicole Theriot was also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab while talking about the exhibition said that I am grateful to Hamir Soomro that he has revived the past of Karachi through his art. It was beautiful. It is our historical past that is visible in these pictures. We have tried to make this happy Karachi once again. Just as Ahmed Shah works to promote art. I promise to make the city beautiful through pen and power. In what condition did we get Karachi and what did we do with it? That Karachi belonged to all of us. It has been hidden after the eighties.
The only need is to inculcate this positive thinking. Our time has passed, but our future generations will see a beautiful Karachi. The politics of discrimination need to be ended. Ahmed Shah tries to connect everyone through his art activities. We will try to make this place a cultural complex. Faizi Rehman Art Gallery will be rebuilt and settled here. President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that “It is a matter of pride for us that the beautiful art of Hamir Soomro is on display here. How Karachi used to be was beautifully described by Hamir Soomro in his watercolors. Never seen such a work before. Parsi, Hindu, Muslim architects are seen among them. We have chosen a young mayor to bring back the beauty of Karachi. We love you and believe that you are the best of this city. We hope that you will bring back the lights of Karachi.
American Consul General Nicole Theriot while expressing the exhibition said that the Arts Council Karachi has organized a great exhibition. I am very happy to come here. History has been described through his art. I love the city of Karachi. I am very grateful to the Arts Council Karachi that the Arts Council is taking great steps to promote art. Various performance-based projects are being worked on jointly by the Arts Council and American Artists. Which will strengthen the cultural relations between the two countries. source: biztoday
