DEWA Women’s Committee highlights achievements in 2022 and discusses 2023 plans with over 300 female employees

DUBAI: In line with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) commitment to empowering its female workforce, the Women’s Committee organised field visits to some of its branches to engage with female employees and introduce the new Committee members. During these visits, the Committee shared updates on its 2022 activities and discussed 2023 plans. The visits also involved several brainstorming sessions, which involved more than 300 female employees from different divisions. The Women’s Committee listened to all employee suggestions, feedback, and ideas, with the aim of incorporating them into its projects and initiatives to deliver the best outcomes for female staff.

Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of the DEWA Women’s Committee, highlighted that the meetings between the Committee and the female staff are in accordance with the top management’s directives, emphasising the Committee’s role as a vital and effective communication channel for female employees. The objective is to understand their ambitions, aspirations, and opinions, while providing support to unlock their potential and foster their creativity and innovation. Furthermore, the aim is to equip female employees across all positions and responsibilities with the opportunities and capabilities required for their success and development.

Aysha Al Asam, Vice Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee, emphasised the significance of conducting field visits to female employees’ workplaces as a crucial element of the Committee’s plans. These visits allow direct employee interaction and enable the Committee to gain insights into their development suggestions and aspirations. This direct engagement positively influences the programmes and activities organised by the Committee throughout the year.
