UAE: Family flies from India to Dubai in search of son, heartbroken to hear of his death
A family who came hunting for their son in the UAE were left heartbroken after finding him dead. The Indian couple, who had not seen their son for over ten years, had begged him to return home but he had refused.
“The man had faced some problems in his hometown after his engagement broke,” said social worker Ashraf Thamarassery. “After that he never returned home.”
Worried about their son after they lost all contact with him for several months, the parents decided to come to the UAE to search for him. Armed with minimal details, they knocked on many doors in search of his address. Finally, after several days when the parents tracked down their son’s residence, they came to know of the crushing truth that he had died.
The man had died of a heart attack. However, his body was not discovered until many days later as he lived alone and had little contact with anyone. The parents then went to the morgue and identified his body.
“I can never forget the sorrow on the faces of the parents,” said Ashraf. “It was one of the most heartbreaking cases I have dealt with.”
After completing all the formalities, the man’s body was repatriated to India.
