First event was a testament to this cross cultural collaboration. It was A Tribute to AR Rahman on 26th April, hosted at Bar Baar Lounge, and a South Asian Soiree to Half Walnut on 27th April. The star of the show was Ahsan Bari, a Karachi-based musician known for his unorthodox and contemporary style of music. He’s the brain behind “Sounds of Kolachi,” a music ensemble that mixes Eastern and Western ideas with sincerity and brilliance. He was joined by musicians: from Pakistan Ajay Harry on the drums, Faraz on flute, Sheezu on dholak; from India, Anuraag on guitars and rubab, Ankit on guitars, harry on keyboard and from Srilanka Yasith on bass.
Ahsan and Ajay have rocked Pepsi Battle of the Bands, Cornetto Pop Rock, and Coke Studio, Bisconni Music, Sikka Festival – among other festivals and gigs around the globe!
