Sarawak Tourism Board participates at 30th Edition of Arabian Travel Market in Dubai

DUBAI: The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023 is an exclusive three-day event in which the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) participation. The Arabian Travel Market is the premier international travel and tourism trade show that enables inbound and outbound tourism professionals to capitalize on market opportunities in the Middle East. Once again, popular tourist destinations from across the world will congregate in Dubai to exhibit their brands alongside the greatest names in accommodation and hospitality, known tourist attractions, cutting-edge travel technology companies, and airlines.
The main theme of this year ATM is “Working Towards Net Zero”, where the travel-related elements is highlighted in defining course of the tourism sector will follow going forward. Working Towards Net Zero discourse on the cutting-edge sustainable travel trends will develop and create growth plans within important vertical industries. This is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) that STB has focused on, notably SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals), which it has been promoting as responsible tourism.
Sarawak’s products uniqueness is highlighted through Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food and Festivals (CANFF) and it is expected to attract tour agencies, potential investors, business interest alike and international visitors. STB is also emphasizing the promotion of Global Sia Sitok Vacation packages. Sia Sitok (“here & there”) invites all non-Sarawakian to take advantage of the custom packages and special discounted rates. The visitors can choose over 140 travel and lifestyle packages and enjoy RM100.00 discount for purchases over RM250.00. These packages can be accessed through Enjoy Sarawak application that can be downloaded through Google Play and Apps Store.
In addition, the annual award-winning Rainforest World Music Festival is also introduced to the potential buyers to be promoted alongside their products and have received very enthusing responses.
STB Deputy Chief Executive Officer Suriya Charles Buas said STB’s participation in Arabian Travel Market is a golden opportunity to further creating awareness on the distinctiveness of Sarawak towards the Middle East market segment.
“I believe Sarawak distinctiveness and effort in upholding the pillars of Responsible Tourism is a great promotional point to position Sarawak as choice of stopover in Malaysia”, he added.
Tourism Malaysia Pavilion at the ATM 2023 is hosting more than 60 exhibitors, ranging from the hotels, destination management companies, tour operators, and state tourism boards.
