Pakistan Theatre Festival by Arts Council opens with full enthusiasm
Pakistan Theatre Festival 2023″ by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi was inaugurated on Friday, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman, intellectual Anwar Maqsood, Caretaker Culture Minister Syed Junaid Ali Shah were on the red carpet of the opening ceremony, Theatre directors, Usman Peerzada, Nabeel Qureshi, Hiba Bukhari, Tipu and a large number of Theatre fans were present.

Pakistan Theatre Festival was inaugurated by well-known director and actor Salman Shahid’s Theatre Patriot & Abdullah. The lively performance of the Theatre group of Lahore was highly appreciated by the audience. Renowned intellectual Anwar Maqsood was presented with a shield by President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori while speaking at the Theatre festival said that there is no doubt that Ahmed Shah will not leave the Arts Council, he has highlighted this culture and civilization not only in Pakistan but outside Pakistan, he has been doing various programs.
They are trying to connect all of them, he said unfortunately, the city in which they are sitting was called the city of lights, which is now becoming a city of criminals. Ahmed Shah is playing a great role in connecting the cultures of the countries. Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman while addressing the Theatre Festival said that there are a large number of people from different countries here, just as Ahmed Shah organized the Pakistan Literature Festival in different cities of Pakistan and the Almi Urdu Conference in different countries of the world it is commendable, he said such festivals bring people together, various problems in the society and problems are looked at, but on the other hand, because of Ahmed Shah, there is also an opportunity to have fun, there is Theatre in every language in this festival.
President of Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said while addressing the opening ceremony of Pakistan Theatre Festival We revived the first music festival, the first Theatre festival, the fine arts. It’s been more than sixteen years since I came to the Arts Council, I welcome all the diplomats, people told me you are Nero playing the flute, the situation is worse than the worst, if the situation is difficult, should we stop living?

Pakistan Theatre Festival spans a month in which different plays will be presented on a daily basis while two plays will be presented on weekends. The arrival of international theatre groups in the theatre festival has also started. On September 9, the American theatre group Uplift will perform their play “Through The Waves” while on September 10, the Sri Lankan dance group will present the dance “Kanya”. President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah has also announced free theatre tickets for the members of the Arts Council, the members can get their tickets from the Arts Council from 12 am to 8 pm. source: biztoday
