Arts Council organizes condolence reference in the memory of Shakeel

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a condolence reference in the memory of Pakistan’s famous actor Shakeel (Yousuf Kamal) at Jaun Elia Lawn. President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah, famous director and producer Qasim Jalali, actor Mustafa Qureshi, Amjad Shah, Muhammad Iqbal Latif, actor and director Ehtisham uddin, wife of Actor Shakeel (late), Hira, Hyder Shakeel, Kamal uddin Ahmed, and other personalities were present in the program. Maheen, Raju Jameel, actors Sajid Hassan, Zaheer Khan, Bakhtiar Ahmed expressed their views while senior actors Ghulam Mohiuddin, actress Huma Nawab, Nilofar Abbasi, Zeenat Yasmeen had a telephonic conversation.

The condolence reference was attended by a large number of personalities from the showbiz industry, including actors, artists and directors, while Huma Mir performed the duties of moderator. Remembering actor Shakeel on this occasion, President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that Shakeel was a very good actor as well as a very good human being. It is very sad that such great actors are leaving us. He used to come to Arts Council, he also did a theater with us, his work was very wonderful, he will always live in our memories, Arts Council assures his family of full support, this institution belongs to all of us. We should stand by each other in times of trouble.

Legendary director and producer Qasim Jalali said that Shakeel was a very wonderful person, such sincere people are rare, he used to do comedy very well, I was an old friend of him, he was a very popular actor of that time. Actor and director and producer Iqbal Latif said that Shakeel won everyone’s heart in a very short time. He was a big name in our industry. Expressing his views, Mustafa Qureshi said, “I regret that I could do one drama with Shakeel. Whenever Shakeel’s drama was on air, I used to cancel my shooting. I got an opportunity to learn a lot by watching his dramas. Shakeel was an institute.” And his plays are a university, Well-known actor and director Ehtisham uddin said that Shakeel was a great personality, he always called me as Ehtesham Mian. Well, Shakeel Sahib was a true and pure working man.

Producer Amjad Shah said that I had a friendship with Shakeel, he had a great personality, he was a chocolate hero of television, he was a very good artist, such artists are born very rarely, actor Raju Jameel said that I didn’t see the handsome actor like him, I had a very good friendship with him, Yousuf’s great thing was that he supported new actors. Actor Sajid Hassan said that I had a family relationship with Shakeel Sahib, he was a visionary personality and a very sophisticated person, his clothes were very good, we should adopt his work, if Shakeel Sahib was not human, he would have been an angel. Actor Zaheer Khan said that with the departure of Shakeel Sahib, it seems like a part of the body has gone. Huma Nawab said that Shakeel spoke civilly and politely, there was a hero in him, he will always live in our hearts, senior actor Ghulam Mohiuddin said in a telephonic conversation that Shakeel was a very senior actor, when I came to know that he had passed away, I remembered the past, there is no actor like Shakeel before or today, I used to pay tribute to his work. Nilofar Abbasi said that Shakeel was a very good person and actor, it was great to work with him, he was a very simple and good person, he studied in the best schools which was visible in his personality. Kamal uddin Ahmed said that when Shakeel came on TV, he had worked on films before that. He was not only an artist but also a very good friend of ours. Actress Maheen said that I always wanted to work with a big actor and I got the opportunity to work with Shakeel sir, I learned a lot from him in a very short time, he spoke very little and was very respectful and loving. Haider Shakeel expressed his views and said that the relationship between me and my father was not that of father and son but that of friends.

The love you showed after his departure is a matter of great pride, My father taught people how to live, Hira Shakeel said my father gave me civility, distinction and education, I used to call him Miyan, despite being such a big actor, he was not a bit arrogant, my father taught me to think, because of him I developed self-confidence. Shakeel’s wife said, “I am very happy to hear such beautiful words for Shakeel today. I thank the Arts Council Karachi for organizing the event in his memory. Thank you for the love and affection you have given. Finally, famous actor Mustafa Qureshi prayed for actor Shakeel.
